OFFERING LETTERS TO SANTA IN 2011

Call the branch before visiting to confirm the address and hours of
operation. Many close their Letters to Santa room by 2pm or 3pm, and shut it
down it 2 – 4 days prior to Christmas. The single post office in Los Angeles
which offers the program is open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon
to 2pm, and the entrance is hard to find. So call before you come down.

Unfortunately the postal service does not publish the phone numbers of
participating branches in their directory at the link above. To get the branch
telephone number, first try putting the branch name and address into a search
engine. That may yield a phone number. Also try calling1(800) ASK-USPS, although
you will need to go through a maze of prompts to get to an operator, who
will in turn connect you over to any local postal branch. Just provide the
operator with the branch’s zip code if you are lucky enough
to get one on the line.
