Saddest letters to Santa may now be adopted by public through USPS Operation Santa®

Elf in Chief - Elf Patrick Reynolds - holds real letters from children in need.

Some of the children’s letters to Santa ask for only a warm coat, new shoes, a backpack for school, or Christmas dinner. Others are written by Moms whose kids are too little to write, and list their kids’ ages and clothing sizes. Some tell why they need help with Christmas this year: they lost their jobs, or have health or other life challenges.

The USPS® has made the saddest letters to Santa available for adoption by the public every year since 1912. The program went online in 2020.
